Bougainvillea Multi-Colour Grafting

Grafted Bougainvillea

Bougainvillea plants are beautiful flower-producing plants and they give flowers for nearly 7-8 months in a year. We just have to care for them by giving them fertilizer and water. But grafting a bougainvillea is a very tricky or tricky skill; if we learn the skill then we don't have to purchase such expensive grafted bougainvillea plants.

How to graft Bougainvillea:-

Bougainvillea grafting can be done using two methods.
1. Single grafting
2. Multi-colour grafting

1.) Single Grafting:

Single Bougainvillea grafting is done to get 2 colours on a single plant and we can easily get it at a low cost as this plant is widely available in a local nursery

2.)Multi-Colour Grafting:

Multi-colour grafting is very hard as we have to do multi-grafting on a single branch this includes the right temperature, proper water, perfect lighting, and the growing season.

Bougainvillea Grafting Process:

Primary we have to select a desi or local bougainvillea mother plant and then we can do grafting as a local plant will give more success in grafting only in local or desi plant multi-grafting is possible as this grafting will take lots of energy and local can handle these type of stress and we can get 100% result.

Follow the process:

1. Selection of colour: Select only the healthy and right colour for your grafting i.e. don't go for the same colour and don't graft the same colour, this is a common mistake that we must avoid.

2. Temperature: Selection of temperature is also important in the growing season and a cooler type of climate is good for grafting as this will allow moisture to hold and will make grafting successful

3. Sunlight: Morning sunlight is to be given to the grafting plant, i.e., some light is given for its growth, making the plant grow fast and healthy.

4. Watering: The right amount of water is to be given if less water is given then the plant will not have enough water and this will lead to a lack of water in the plant and grafting will fail

5. Removing extra branches and leaves: If you want to have successful grafting then we have to remove all the other extra branches and leaves this will allow the grafting branch to shoot new leaves if we have not removed old leaves or branches then new grafting shoot will not get enough energy from the mother plant.

6. Grafting tape: Grafting tape plays a very important role as it will not allow grafting stock to get dry by not allowing water to evaporate. Also, tie the grafting tape tightly so that when we water the plant water doesn't go into the grafting part this will save grafting from fungus attack.

Conclusion

Bougainvillea grafting or multi-grafting is to be done on local variety and the right temperature is very important finally selection of the correct time with a healthy branch will make us the successful bougainvillea grafting.
