We all love money plant as they spread greenery and also makes us happy but you know that we can grow it in a plastic water bottle or any other container in which water can be stored we just have to take a cutting and remove the bottom leaves and put money plant cutting in water and it will start growing

1] Select a healthy money plant cutting and place it in a small container with water to allow roots to grow. Prepare a plastic bottle by cutting it horizontally, leaving about one-third of the bottle intact.

2] Fill the bottom of the bottle with small stones or pebbles for drainage (optional). Create a well-draining potting mix using a combination of soil, sand, and compost.

3] Transfer the rooted money plant cutting into the prepared bottle, ensuring the roots are covered with soil. Water the plant thoroughly and place it in a location with indirect sunlight. Ensure the plant receives enough light but avoid placing it in direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.

4] Water the money plant regularly, keeping the soil moist but not soggy
. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot and other plant diseases.

5] Mist the leaves occasionally to provide humidity, especially in dry climates.
Fertilize the money plant every two to four weeks using a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted according to the package instructions. Trim the plant regularly to maintain its shape and encourage bushier growth.

6] Check the bottle's drainage regularly and make sure excess water can escape easily.
Rotate the bottle occasionally to ensure even growth and prevent the plant from leaning towards the light source. Monitor the plant for pests and diseases, and take appropriate action if needed, such as using organic insecticides or fungicides.

The sad truth about money plants growing in water:

We generally take a healthy money plant cutting and keep it in a water bottle and after a few weeks we will see small roots growing and new leaves will come out of cutting, every thing will go very well but once the money plant has utilised all the nutrients in itself its growth will stop and at this point, roots will stop growing and at this point, we will think our money plant cutting is not growing then we just throw it away of it die.

Solution: 

The solution for this is to change the water every 7th day and try to keep the money plant bottle in a bright location so that it can make its food and can survive easily as every plant needs a little bit of sunlight for its growth. Don't keep the money plant in direct sunlight as it will damage its leaves and it will burn all its root systems.

Protect them from drafts or cold drafts from air conditioning or heating systems. Not keeping money plants in direct sunlight can stop their growth and will burn their leaves.
