Gardening Hacks you must know (Home garden)

Use of coconut in garden:

We can use coconut to fill our pot in case of less available soil.

We generally drink coconut water and throw the coconut, we can easily use coconut in the garden in many ways just by using it in our garden.

Use it as cocopeat:-

The use of cocopeat in the garden is done on a wide scale, cocopeat is used in soil to make it loose, porous and soft. Cocopeat also helps retain moisture in the soil for a longer time. Cocopeats also help in Seedling as Seedling love moisture and also lose soil mix allowing them to grow fast.

Use of coconut:-

We can use coconut directly in the pot, if your pot is small then you can cut your coconut into small pieces but if your pot is big then you can directly place coconut in a pot this will allow your pot to get filled easily. With this method, we can easily fill our pot with less soil.

I am using this method on a daily basis this helps me a lot, as with time you will get a nice loose soil full of nutrients in it. Plants can penetrate their roots in it and get lots of nutrients for free.

Generally, keep our pot half empty because of less soil this method of using coconut will make our pot fill and we can grow a healthy plant, lack of soil may damage plants.

How cocopeat is made in factory have a look:

When not to use cocopeat:-

Plants that don't love water holding in soil, such as succulents, adenium or cactus type of plants.
As they hold extra water in the stem and in the leaf, so soil mix must not be made with a mix of cocopeat in the soil

We can also make cocopeat at home

Coconut when gets dry can be used easily in a garden but when crushed it gives 2 products i.e. cocopeat and coco fibre both have different uses but we can use both in a garden, fibre to make pots and also can be used to cover drainage holes and cocopeat to mix in soil.

How to make cocopeat at home:

1. Take a small part of the coconut
2. Rub coconut peel with a hand or use a grinder to crush the coconut peel
3. Two products will come i.e. cocopeat & coco fibre.
4. Mix cocopeat in soil to make it loose and fluffy.
