Adenium special care in the rainy season

Adenium also known as desert rose, the name itself has lots of answers i.e. the plant which doesn't love water too much because they have the capability of storing water in its roots and caudex.

As we can see a healthy adenium caudex, so giving a limited quantity of water will make your adenium healthy and using fungicide will make it best in adenium special care.

Should I give water in the rainy season:

Water is essential for the growth of plants so giving water is very necessary, so how to water adenium plants in the rainy season?

Water requirement is very less in rainy season as adenium absorb a little bit of water from the air also as surrounding is also having lot's of water in the air so we can give water after every 10 days or 12 days as the moist environment will not evaporate water easily so there is a chance root rot. If the rain sprinkles are on adenium then we must not give water.

What is the Root Rot Problem

The common problem in the adenium plants is Root rot i.e. roots turning yellow/brown which promotes fungus growth and leads to adenium die. This problem is very common in bad soil mix, so if you want to avoid root rot then use sand or perlite in soil mix or any soil mix with well drainage capability. The use of a fungicide is very important as fungus in the soil or on roots is the main problem, always mix 1 tablespoon of fungicide in 1 litre of water and give it to your adenium plant.

Fungicide is important or not?

Adenium plants can survive without fungicide but we can't be sure what is happening under the soil so we have to give a dose of fungicide every 15 days or even in 10 days depending upon the moisture in the environment.

Reporting of adenium in Rainy season

This is very tricky i.e. can we report adenium in the rainy season or not. So after the rainy season, we get a dormancy period of adenium i.e winter season, and adenium may fall sick if they get stressed about reporting also if we break roots at the time of reporting then the fungal attack can be a big problem and until we come to know about it adenium may die because of root rot problem. So avoiding reporting is the best solution.

Better not to report adenium in the rainy season and wait for spring or summer season. Or if you have a good experience then you are good to go.

Reporting of Adenium

If we report Adenium twice a year then we will see a lack of flowers this is my personal experience with Adenium, so always choose the summer season or the start of the spring season this will make your Adenium produce flowers and we can receive flowers in summer and also in winter season.

Soil mix for Adeniums

Soil mix for adenium is essential actually adenium is a desert plant so loves dryness in soil always give sand mix in the soil and 50% of sand will be good, 20% of organic fertilizer (vermicompost or cow dung), 30% of soil.

At the time of flowering, we can additionally give chemical fertilizer for better flowering.

Flowering time of Adenium :

The peak time for adenium to produce flowers is the summer season but they can produce flowers in any season if the adenium plant is healthy enough, but if conditions are not good they will not give blooming the whole year, so what is the solution?

The solution is to give less water and maintain nutrient levels in the soil.

Can we put Adenium in direct rain:

All plants love rain so we can keep adenium in rain twice the season, but after keeping adenium in rain we must not give water from our side as rainwater is enough for 15 days of water supply. Also, rainwater is full of essential nutrients for plant growth so we must give rainwater to our adenium plant once or twice.
